Genuine WWII US M1 helmet, fixed bales, manufactured by McCord, original 2nd pattern canvas straps with brass buckles, complete with its liner Hawley type, unpainted A washers. Both liner and helmet shell are painted grey, the letters "MP" are painted on helmet shell. Found many years ago near Airfield A-16 in Brucheville/Sainte-Marie-du-Mont area.

It was commonly worn as a light rain cover and used on D-Day by landing craft crew (as seen on picture).
